childhood memories ruined part 1

Do you ever remember a show from your childhood that you thought was just amazing and then after many years you go back and realize it wasn't as good as you thought? Whenever I get bored I sometimes look for youtube videos of shows I use to watch when I was a kid and I'm surprised just how awful some of the shows were that I thought were cool. I think I might start a weekly post of my findings for everyone to enjoy. The first one is from the show land of the lost. I loved this show because it had a land full of dinosaurs and at 6 years old anything with dinosaurs was my favorite show of all time. well...needless to say it hasn't aged well...first off how the freak do they have enough gas to drive around? They're in the flippin land of the lost! Plus its convient everyone happens to speak english even the monkey things. well i guess its better than the 70's version....enjoy

Goals for 2011

So I thought I'd maybe shed some light on 2011. 2010 definitely wasn't my favorite year. While I had some great times and made great friends there was so much personal turmoil I can't help but be grateful it's behind me. This new year looks to be a great one. My car will be paid off in a few months, I will finally graduate with my first 2 year degree and will be moving on to a university, a new job in my future, no braces, and new goals for the new year to help me be more in charge of my life. This will be my year I want to take chances to be a better more responsible person, to be more spiritually mature, to not be afraid of who I am and to not be so hard on myself. An optimistic attitude towards life and all its challenges.

5 random things about me

1. I'm so excited for a new year...mostly because it's bringing lots of new changes and experiences. I'm graduating slcc and transferring to a university, I'll be moving out (hopefully soon), finding a better job and career.

2. I really want to finish the album I've been writing in my spare time. It's nothing much really..just something I've always wanted to do even when i was a little kid. Listening to michael jackson and the beach boys I always had dreams of being part of a band playing in front of hundreds of people. Unfortunately I was always really shy about singing in front of people until a couple of years ago. Now I figure there's no better time to record and write since I don't have as many responsibilities as some of my other friends (family, career, etc) So I may post about this from time to time so i apologize if you get fed up with it!

3. I love having my braces off. I had no idea how good food tastes without having to worry about getting it out of the wires around your teeth, not to mention it's easier to look in the mirror. I no longer see a guy who looks like he's 15 anymore. I'm also doing whitening trays so hopefully I'll have the smile of a movie star (hey i can dream right?)

4. Confession time. I like many guys my age enjoy the typical stuff. Video games, electronics, sports, music, movies, and I have to say I LOVE reading. Like reading reading. I'm not much into magazines (except of the occasional geek magazine). I love reading literature from different time periods. Whether it's Of Mice and Men, Hamlet, The Chronicles of Narnia, Harry Potter, The Alchemist,  or even the hunger games books. I read lots in my free time. I have a huge collection of church books too that I love to read for talks and lessons or when I need some much needed inspiration. I'm always eager to hear of a new book! I now have about 7 books i'm reading and I don't know how long it'll take to finish them all but I love every minute of it!

5. I'm really hoping to step up and make alot of changes in my routines and habits this year. I feel like having a schedule where I pretty much spent my entire life either at work or school got me into a very mundane daily schedule that didn't lead to many "adventures". I'm making it a resolution to find as many ways to enjoy this year with friends as I can whether thats with a road trip or just a random adventure around town.

Fall by Windsor Drive

I want to see you now,
In my darkest hour,
When nothing is for real,
Bring back the chance to feel,

Pre chorus:
I would like to tell you something,
That you ought to know,

Chorus:
Do what you do best,
And if the ground should crumble and fall,
When love puts you to the test,
Just fall on me, {fall}

Verse 2:
Undress yourself and I,
Will fill these walls with the thoughts that we’ve painted,
Of a love gone stale,
And of a heart mistreated,

Pre chorus:
I would like to tell you something,
That you ought to know,

Chorus:
Do what you do best,
And if the ground should crumble and fall,
When love puts you to the test,
Just fall on me, {fall}
Just fall on me, (fall)

You can call me what you’d like,
Beat me down ‘til you don’t recognize me,
But I will not give up the fight,
Won’t back down, I won’t apologize,
You still leave me drunk,
You still leave me drunk,
You still leave me drunk,
You still leave me drunk, in love

Do what you do best,
And if the ground should crumble and fall,
When love puts you to the test,
Just fall on me, (fall)
Do what you do best,
And if the ground should crumble and fall,
When love puts you to the test,
Just fall on me, (fall)
Just fall on me, (fall)

What makes someone a hipster??

I In the last 3 to 4 months I've been hearing the phrase hipster thrown around and I've honestly have no idea where it started. I've been called a "hipster" and have had friends make jokes about people who they classify as being "hipster". I'm curious how people come up with this weird classification. I found this online today and I think it puts it all in perspective.Dustinland hipster comic
